Trim Alignment with Design Profile Without Breaking Data Shortcut?

Hi,
I’m working in Autodesk Civil 3D and need some advice.
I have an alignment (0+00–10+00) with a design profile (PVI + vertical curves).
The alignment is named and used in Data Shortcuts, so I cannot create a new one.
I need to remove 0+00–3+00 and 9+00–10+00, so the remaining 3+00–9+00 becomes the new alignment and resets to 0+00–6+00.
Requirements:
Keep the same alignment object
Preserve all PVI elevations and vertical curves exactly
Only shift stationing
Avoid breaking Data Shortcut references
When I trim the alignment, the profile rebuilds and causes issues.
Is there a safe workflow to do this without affecting the design profile?
Thanks.
