Toolspace Prospector and Settings buttons have red outline and wont open

This could be a very simple problem. I toggled off all of the buttons in the Palettes tab (prospector, settings, survey, toolbox). The Toolspace button greyed out. However, when i toggle the buttons back on and open the toolspace, i can only see the survey and toolbox side-tabs. The prospector and settings buttons in the palettes tab have a red outline.

Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting.

If you toggle between different workspace in Civil 3D, i.e going from Civil 3D to Planning & analysis

Otherwise, you might want to try to reset C3D.cuix

Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for your reply. Switching the workspace didn't work. I tried to reset the C3D.CUIX but it says it has been "moved, renamed, or deleted", and to type CUILOAD at the command prompt. I could do this but im not sure where i would load it from.

I am using the student version.

Thanks!

Cierra todos los archivos y desde la ficha "Start", crea uno nuevo

Close all the files and from the "Start" tab use the "new" button to create a new file.

@Anonymous,

In addition to @Miguel_Sepulveda suggestion, typically, the error message indicates that the CUIx file is damaged.

Check out this knowledge article to locate the location of the CUIx file:

Error: "Unable to open customization file" and ribbon not loading in AutoCAD

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks! I followed the steps and replaced the .cuix files. I seem to still have the issue. However, if I just close and re-open the drawing the prospector and setting tabs reload. I will just not turn them off in the first place.

Thank you for your helpful replies,
