Surface Problem | Stray Points Generating with Feature Lines

Hello!

I am running into a problem with the surface of the drawing I'm working in...Why are these four points within the white boxes being generated and added to my surface? My feature line does not have any nodes at these points.

I've attached a screenshot below that shows where the problem is occurring.

When I add the two feature lines I have selected here as break lines to my surface, the four points in white boxes are also generated for some reason, these four points are generating error notifications whenever I work on the surface.

I've tried deleting the points, this works momentarily, but the errors soon come back after the next edit, but the points can not be deleted a second time.

This problem started after Trimming and then Rejoining the Featureline in question. The edits were made 140' west, not near the point of this error.

I have included my CAD file as a reference for anyone willing to take a look. The surface has no Edits in its definitions, only Breaklines, Boundaries, and Contours. The break lines with a problem are named "2/2 North Driveway Curbs 9.13.22 (PROBLEM HERE)

I believe it is the mid-ordinate distance.  If I increase it to 50" I don't get the extra points generated.

To be honest, I would actually increase the number of points to generate a smoother surface.  I would set the supplement factor to 0.2m or 8"

I will try this tomorrow!
Does increasing these factors add more points, and also solve the error messages simultaneously?

Yes, I very often use the supplement factor, it adds points along a feature line and makes your surface a lot more realistic.  I used to get complaints from contractors when my surface was too triangular.  Adding points will make your file size larger so it is a balancing act on larger models.

With reference to the error messages, to be honest I get these often when adding feature lines as break lines onto a surface.  I usually disregard them as long as the surface looks good and functions correctly.

Thanks for your recommendations, they both sound useful.

One question regarding your second point, regarding disregarding the error messages if everything looks fine...Do you find that the file is more error-prone to crashing or being slow if you have errors? I find that my machine takes an extra 3-4 seconds in between modifications of the surface to update just to generate these error messages.

I've recently started disabling auto regenerate on the surface to help the problem in scenarios that don't involve error messages at all and that's helped, I'm sure I could do the same with the error messages, but I like to keep auto regen on for smaller grade changes.

Worked like a charm! Taking advantage of the Supplementing factors for distance and Mid ordinance will be something I use on a regular basis now moving forward in my career! Thanks for the solution!
