Subassembly.LinkSlopeAndVerticalDeflection

I have an assembly I made using  the Subassembly.LinkSlopeAndVerticalDeflection.  It is the for-slope of my ditch, If I use a profile to control the deflection is should hold the slope and just change the elevation of the ditch if I'm correct.  It is adjusting the elevation but not holding the slope. I just don't understand what I could be doing wrong.  It is a road side ditch project and I want to be able to control the elevation of the ditch flow line using another profile which it does but it changes the slope also.

That is my interpretation of the help for it, and I believe I have used it that way in the past. As a check, try a LinkSlopeToElevation and see what results you get, it seems more suited to what you are doing.
