When creating view frames you have the option to create "Plan and Profile", "Plan Only" and "Profile Only". I have used the 1st two, but not the last. When creating sheets they are placed in the SSM, so I assume (bad idea!) a profile only would go into SSM also.
the profile view is determined by the size and scale of the vport in the prototype. Adjust this and get a single view frame prior to sheets, but it would probably be easier to make the layout and vport in the profile view drawing.
somehow I think I under thought this?
are you looking for one long or just a sing view of a long profile? in create sheets you can control which vframes get created

Sorry I'm so late geting back to this.
So in other words, it may do something close to what I need but not quite what I need.. 🙂
Joe I think I can take your idea and make a temp sheet set with one vp, copy and paste into the good set whre I replace the multiple profile views with a single one.
THanks folks. Kudos to all.

So what exactly are you trying to do? I'm dense that way

This is strange to me... I have a surface drawing with my profile in it for design. Data reference alignment and PGL into a new drawing to create profile sheets. When I try to create view sheets it fatal errors every time. If I try to create view in my surface drawing I have no issues. An ideas?
Joe
NOt really sure but I would just create the reference and use a hidden style. Delete the ref when the sheets are all set if it's not needed.

Scratch that. The file must have been the problem. I was able to do it in a new drawing.
