Hi everyone,

I hope you are doing well. I would like to change the center axis to a desired length in a section view in Civil 3D. Where can I edit this, and which style should I modify?

Best regards

Hi @nabilhoren, thanks for posting your question. To understand better the situation. Do you want to shift it 1m to the left, up, or down?

1. To shift 1m to the left. Draw a twin alignment that runs parallel to your design alignment. Then create the sample line based on that alignment and finally sample everything (corridor, surfaces, and any other stuff you had in your previous cross section)

2. To shift it up/down. I think this translates in adjusting the layout profile, or the section view grid. You can do that in the section view

Let me know your thoughts!

Best regards.

Hi Camilo, thank you for your replay. I want to shift it up/down. Is that possible to write down the steps.

Hey there!

Your section view is shallow. The axis is as long as your section view height. So, if the view is 5m - the axis will be 5m. It cannot be independently set.

And that setting is done PER-VIEW. Other settings are a bit tricky, like the "section height" when creating multiple section views, cause they tie to the major grid step (if i'm not mistaken).
