SCR file write issues

Hi All,

I am trying to write a script file but due to our IT system it is blocked as .scr files are common ransomware files. Therefore I can't create/edit script files.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Is there anyway to write a script file directly in civil 3d so it doesn't need to save like a macro in excel?

Or can you open another file extension as a script file?

If you can do it with a script, you can do it with LISP or .NET.

Post your script and I will create an example LISP for you.

I believe anything you would write into an .SCR file can just be copied and pasted into the command line. So just save your script as .TXT then paste the text from the .TXT into the command line. Maybe not elegant but should work...

Now a days companies don't want you to save anything on the C drive. I started to put all my lsp and scr files that I write on a flash drive so when I need them they are easily accessible. HTH

Hi Tim,

Apologies for taking so long to reply, thanks the reason i would be trying to use scripts would be to import multiple pdfs at once or copy a layout across multiple drawings. Would a lisp still work for this?

Thanks

Mike

Use the action recorder and you add (command "name") to accadoclsp files to automatically run

The copying of layouts to multiple other drawings is beyond my LISP abilities - I'm a hobbyist programmer - but if you post on the Civil 3D Customization group or the AutoCAD customization groups, you'll find professional programmers who can do that, probably using .NET.

The part about importing multiple .pdf files is do-able with LISP.
