Publish Dialog Box Issues or Bug?

Hi all,

I have an issue with the publish dialog box. Even though I use the same PC3 file I end up with two different results.

My first case:

In the "published to:" I select PDF from the dropdown menu. Then the "PDF Preset:" drop-down appears and I select AutoCAD PDF _M (Smallest File). This is set to publish with no layers, 400vectorx200raster dpi, lines merge, capture fonts used in drawings, and create bookmarks. In this case, I do get my desired result.

My second case:

In the "published to:" I select Plotter named in page setup. Then I'll select all my sheets and go to the page setup dropdown menu and select import and navigate to the 2022PLOT LAYOUT.dwg and select the Imported: 30x42 PDF_M. This is set to publish with no layers, 400vectorx200raster dpi, lines merge, capture fonts used in drawings, and create bookmarks. In this case, I do not get my desired result. For some reason layers show up in the PDF and I am not sure as to why this occurring.

Here is some additional info from more testing. I made sure each dwg already had the 30x42 PDF_M so I did not have to choose the import option and I still ended up with layers in my PDF. I do not understand why the same PC3 file would produce two different PDFs.

So I don't use the "merge option" (possibly part of the issue) I have used lines overwrite for eternity, as shown.

Also I don't use any of the other presets, when I print to PDF, I always use DWG To PDF

I never plot layers as shown by selecting Publish Options and unchecking that, but do the fonts.

Also when I publish, I hover over a layout tab, right click, select all, and then select publish (not sure it matters, just my workflow).

Right, I can do the same steps you are doing and I get my desired result. I guess what I am trying to understand is why "Plotter Name in page setup" does not follow the instructions given in the "page setup" drop-down menu.

When I do it this way it gives me layers, even though the Page Setup selected is set to "don't include" Layer information.

When it is done this way I get the desired result. Just wondering if am I doing something wrong or if it a bug within AutoCAD C3D 2022.
