Process symbol points along with linework

I have Descriptor keys, point styles, figure prefix database, figure styles, Line Code set all set up already, and I've been trying to fine a way to process point symbols along with line work, but all I get are symbols.

For instance, I have a fence post symbol for points and I want it to also draw in the connecting fence line. Posts will plot by themselves, fencelines will plot by themselves, but not together. What is the correct way to code the point being processed. I Have definitions for Post, Fence, FL (fenceline). For codes I've tried POST FENCE, POST FENCE B & POST FENCE E, POST FL50 B, (Even  FENCE B POST although I read the symbol code should go first).

Or, if I can somehow get the Descriptor Keys to plot a separate symbol not attached to but in addition a standard survey point, and bring in the line work (like Carlson can do, that'll work)

Thanks,

I believe I'm understanding you correctly in that POST is your description key symbol. This must be first if you want the point style representing the block to display. Then you can apply any other codes thereafter. I do this routinely with overhead wires as there will be a (concrete power pole) CPP 0HW1 OHW2 OHW3 OHW4. As a general rule I've most done away with the B and E, and relied on a new number.

Based on what you've tried I would thing that POST FL##### should work, as long as you have FL defined as a survey figure prefix.

Possible you issue is that the SDB is not point to the Linework Code Set and Figure Prefix Database that you have created. I would verify the settings of the SDB and try reprocessing based on the FL#### scenario.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm pulled off that project temporarily.

We tried everything suggested and it's still not drawing a line between the point symbols. The codes are in the SDB and the SFD. The symbols all come in correct separately and the linework also come in correct, so I know everything is reading from the right place. What we did stumble across was in the Descriptor Key format column there are also options. At first, we only had $*. Then we tried $1 $2 (to get it to read the 2nd code), then tried $+, so far neither are working. We're exploring the different options.

Could you provide a picture of the FDB  & DSC Keys you are using. I can bet the is something wrong with one or the other. The FORMAT has nothing to do with the linework
