Problems with Section views and Weeding.

I'm having a problem with Creating my section views with the levels being shown at the correct locations. I keep playing around with the weeding value and I can never find one that shows the levels at the correct locations. I don't quite understand weeding to be honest, it seems like quite a convoluted way of setting which points you want to show a level in the section bands. Wouldn't it just be easier to assign the where you want to display levels by point code, for example, showing level at the edge of carriageway point code, or the back of verge point code. I've uploaded a screen shot of a section with ordinance line set at a weeding value of 0.15 (Ive tried weeding up to 100 with no success) As you can see the ordinance lines are inconsistent, some at back of kerb, some at the bottom, also random lines in the verge and carriageway. Hopefully someone here can enlighten me as to what im doing wrong, because I cant believe Autodesk would make a system that limits your ability to show the information you want to show. Regards Dan

Hi @dansk_84 ,

For XS via weeding and stagger (Using surface method) check message 6 of this <Thread link 1>

For XS via corridor code set style (Using Corridor Method) view 3:04 to 14:45 <AU Class CI123653 Link>

For XS via corridor code set style (Using Section View Label) view 5:39 to 14:52 <AU Class CI225967 Link>

For more information Visit:

<Article Link 1> - ANZ Tools - How to use Demo (Can download zip file here)

<Article Link 2> - Section View Label - User Guide

Sample Section Label Tools <Screencast>

The links above will guide you and give you strong foundation on how to provide different XS labels. Hope you find which method that works for you.

Cheers,

Jowenn

Hi,

Thanks for providing these guide, this is exactly what I am looking for.

However, im having a bit of an issue getting any of the labels to show. Ill go though what I have done.

1 - Ive produced a basic corridor with point codes (EC, VG, EW)

2 - Created a cross section

3 -  Under the styles for the Corridor model in the section view properties I have created a new style called Cross Section (Code Set Style).

4 - Under the new Cross Section (Code Set Style) I have imported codes from my assembly.

5 - I then Created a new Label style called Cross Section Labels.

6 - Under layout I create a new component called Point Code Text, and fill in all the properties as per your video.

7 - I press ok and navigate back to the model space to see if my cross section have updated with the Point codes shown.

At this point I can see that nothing has been updated on my sections. I was at least hoping this label would work, and then I could replicate the same text for all the other labels I wanted shown.

I know I have done something wrong as I can see on that video that it is possible. Do you have any idea where I might be going wrong?

Dan
