Section View Information not displaying as I would like it

Hello all,

I have been battling these last few days, on and off to get my text positioning all aligned. You can see in the image below that all my major intervals have an odd Y offset, even though both my minor and major intervals have the same Y offset.  Following this, you can see the minor offset before the major offset also follows a similar pattern.

Does anyone have a fix for this/know how this comes about?

Thanks,
Sam

Dear Friend,

I am getting this right you have elevation of the first two rows. NOT the offsets. The last row is offsets.

First two columns cannot be same since they are existing levels and proposed levels.

You need to go to section view properties and select the correct surfaces in order to display the correct data.

The last row also should be modified in the same manner.

Sections view display depends on the section view styles and various band styles used in dwg.

They differ from template to template.

If it is OK to upload your dwg others can have a closer look.

Thanks

Just looking at a picture we can only guess. What I'd suggest is that you check the attachment.

Sorry for the delay in reply.

My major and minor increments were already attached to the middle center.

I have sorted out a work around for now, but I'm still perplexed as to why there is an odd diagonal tick, and a very odd Y off set on the text.

Hi Sam,

This is an interesting question and very hard to explain as there are so many ways to create your sections and labels.
I will try to give you a quick guide on how to modify your current section so you can adjust to what you are trying to produce.

I personally like creating XS via corridor code set style instead of using the surface and weeding.

Please see attached screencast to see what I mean and I also created a QuickSummary.jpg to show how to edit them.

I assume you want to align the text even if you are using stagger and weeding and I also assume you want to control label tick.

Hope this will help you solve the very odd Y offset.

Cheers,
Jowenn

(Sorry if screencast is not displaying. I will try to edit this again later if I figure out a way to show them here. For now please see link above)

Hi Jowenn,

Thanks for the very in-depth video.

This really helped understand what the problem was within my sections.

Hi Jowenn,

Your video realy helped me to understand how labels and bands works, but i have question because i didnt understand how to get design levels from coridor, only elevation from start and end of every segment of coridor and put it in the bands.
Now I only get get elevation from surface of coridor, and that is the problem because it is not perfect, he gives me sometimes random places of coridor.

Thank you in advance.
