Pressure Pipes Adding Materials

Hi again, and thank you in advance.  I have yet to use pressure pipes in my drawings but I want to start using them.  I can't figure out why I can't add more materials to my parts list.  The default parts list has ductile iron pipe but when I try to add pvc or hdpe, I can find them when setting the pressure network catalog and I can find all the folders deep in the directory structure as well. The problem is when I right click on the parts list to add materials, in the pressure network parts list dialog, the pressure network catalog window opens with nothing there to select. How can I get this window to populate all the other materials that exist with the software when you install the program?  I know they are a different file type as well (SQL files) which I have never work with before so I guess I may be missing something.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there, this problem happened to me and what I did was restart the program, but first I double checked that the correct folder to set the pressure network catalog. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input. I have tried that with no success.  I have even completely wiped the program from my hard drive, everything down to the last folder I could find. Then I reinstalled the software which was successful, but still can't get them to populate in the "add materials" window.

Since you mention multiple SQLite files, I will assume that you are using C3D 2017, which comes with PVC, HDPE, etc.

Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, a parts list can only contain parts from a single catalog.  This means you can't combine both DIP and PVC in the same parts list.

However, there is nothing that prevents you from using multiple parts list in a single network.

If you create a parts list for DIP, PVC, and HDPE, you can combine these in a pressure network.

When creating the network, it will ask for the parts list.  Go ahead and choose the most common for your network (let's say it's PVC).

Now, if you need to add a HDPE or DIP (to bore under a road, for example), simply change the parts list being used for the next pipe/fitting/appurtenance.

The next feature you create will be of the new material type.

Thanks for the help!  I never would have thought that you'd need separate parts list for different materials. Perfect timing too, I need to get those pressure pipes in my plans ASAP.
