Hi, i have the following point format:
1 | -95.55743 | 29.93861 | 20 |
that I would like to import into the right place.
Under drawing settings, I have chosen: TX83-SC.
Under the import points, i have edited as below. The points are not getting to the right place. What am i doing wrong?

Hi Yara,
Probably because of the "Raw Description" header.
Can you post a snippet of your point file?

Hi Dave, the points are getting into the drawing, but not in the right place.
Hello,
It looks like you are trying to import points from Latitude/Longitude and have them placed in TX state plane?
You need to create a Point File Format that specifies those column data. As part of the Point File Format, you need to tell Civil 3D what coordinate system the point file is coming from. Something like LL84.
Be sure to click the box for Coordinate zone transform.
When you import the file, be sure to select this Point file format and click the box to Do coordinate transformation if possible.
i believe it worked thank you. I check the points long and lat with google earth, and they are the same.
However, now i am trying to import the KMl file into C3d using map import. The points came from the KML, but the objects in the kml files are getting imported much smaller and completely different place. I used the same LL84 when i used the map import function. Why it is not working ?
Do you have the proper coordinate zone set in your drawing?
Yara,
#Pt,Longitude,Latitude,Elevation
1,-95.5574,29.93861,811.5543
2,-95.5572,29.93861,914.6982
Those points are definitely in Texas South Central. TX83-SC is a Metric Coordinate System. (Are your elevations in meters or feet?)
You only need to check the "Coordinate zone transform" box if your points are in a different Datum than NAD83. If they are WGS84 then do as Tim says. If the Longs and Lats are the same NAD83 that TX83-SC uses, then nothing need be done there.
