Nearmap Images no longer geolocate

Anyone using Nearmap?

If so have you noticed any new scaling and/or insertion point issues in the past few months?

I can get MSid images in w/o issue with IInsert and a Data Connection. Both of these methods fail with Nearmap images. I have copied the folder locally to insure the path was not longer than 128 characters. jpg and jpw have same name. Fails with company template and NCS template, coord sys is assigned.

This all worked fine for two years and I started to get complaints about two months ago. 

Has anyone seen similar issues?

What version of Civil 3D should I test?

...I am wondering if our MS guys changed our template or acaddoc.lsp settings for insunits or similar variable. I'm busy but will check soon.

The attached files were properly located in a dwg almost 2 yrs ago. I cannot get them in any new file correctly now.

I didn't catch where you were working and Bing maps won't load. Here's where the image came in.

and the approximate center.

BTW. I left my coordinate system as New York East Feet. That should match NJ.

The issue is my ignorance. As usual the problem falls between the chair and keyboard. 🙂

I have used mapiinsert with these images for so long and was not aware that data connect requires the user to enter the image coord sys which I never had to do with Mapiinsert....

That's curious. Our ortho photos come in using MAPCONNECT without an assigned coordinate system and they fall right where they're supposed to.

BTW, W74 N51 is up in Quebec in some wild looking country ...

Yeah. The Latitude looks severely compromised. But the N/E coordinates looked the be in the ballpark. I didn't test them. Just thought they looked right for West New York, NJ.

The NearMap image is in EPSG:26918 NAD83/UTM zone 18N, a metric Coordinate System. If you use MAPIINSERT in a drawing assigned that same Coordinate System it drops in the right place. Save and Close that drawing. Then in your NJ83F drawing you can Attach/Query the drawing with the NearMap image.

Yes the cood and lat lon were in the file names.

Dave S. I know I can get around the units with a query but I have never had to do it with these maps before.

In the zip file is a dwg created in June. It has a Nearmap image that was inserted with MapIInsert. Now I can't get MapIInsert or IInsert to work on the Image. Only dataconnect at this point. Have not tried mapconnect yet.

I used IINSERT in a new drawing, but I did not click the "Transform to drawing's coordinate system" box. Because the image and drawing use the same coordinate system, no transformation is needed. You can also use MAPIINSERT.

Odd thing is that works for one image and not another! Just to make sure I'm not going nuts I recorded it. 🙂
