Missing command line

Installed Infrastructure design suite 2017.  Civil 3D doesn't have a command line prompt Works fine in Standard AutoCAD).  Using F2 will make the command window visible but wont allow entry to command prompt field.  Turning the Command line on in CUI has no effect.  How do I get my command line back?

I've also tried ctrl+9 with no success. I've been able to get the command line to appear in a floating text window through some combination of F2 and ctrl+9 but haven't figured out which brought it up. There is a partial display of the command line at start up and it is not accessible. F2 brings it more visible but still doesn't reveal an accessible command prompt...just a history. I think crtl+9 has brought brings the floating text window with the accessible prompt. but there's a sequence between F2 and cntl+9 that has to be followed. If I close and re-open Civil 3D, I have to re-establish the floating text window and it seems hit or miss at this point until I grasp what's working..  I've had a lot of down time over this.  I've been keeping Civil 3D open to get some work done while I have a command line. I can't risk losing my command line again to spend 2 more days trying to retrieve it. The text window will work but the problem remains...nothing I've tried gives me a docked command line at the bottom of the CAD window.  You can how detached it is at startup  in the link provided. I've never seen this in 25 years of AutoCAD.

Have you tried to change to a different workspace?

Interesting!  The other workspaces Display the docked command line properly.  It's Just the Civil 3D

workspace.  I can get the floating text window with a prompt if command line window is turned of with cntl+9 and then hit F2.   No properly docked command line though

Thank you All!!!

A special thanks to Wfberry who recommended checking the other workspaces! Thanks Bill!

After checking the other workspaces and returning to the Civil 3D workspace I found my command line restored to normal.  Why? I don't know.  But yea....That did the trick.

I had the same issue.  I could change workspace and see the command line, but if I restarted back in Civil 3D workspace, the command line went away.  Turns out the command line window was appearing and disappearing with ctrl-9, but the window was positioned under even the windows taskbar, far off screen.  I went into my Windows display settings and scaling was set to 150% (Recommended).  I changed it to 100%, and the display scaled back and I could see the command line window.  I moved it up near the top of the display, saved the Workspace, and changed the scaling back to 150% and it's working normally now.   If you don't save the workspace after you move the command line window it will revert back to being off screen.
