Is it by design that Mass Haul Diagrams cannot be placed in Datashortcuts ?
( I have 2024 version)

Thank you,

Efren

Hi @efren.abellaPWZWF, I hope you are doing well. To answer your question, I have not seen that capability in Civil 3D so far. Why would you need to create a mass haul diagram data reference? Do you want to share more about your situation?

Regards!

Hi Thank you for your response.

I want the Mass Haul Line to be available in Datashortcut just like you would use the same as a Profile object in Datashortcut. As we all know Datashortcut allows us to reuse the same object in any drawing.
But i understand the complexity as Mass Haul Diagrams are contingent to Sample Lines and their corresponding Cross-sections. I can re-use the Sample lines from DS but to create a Mass Haul Diagram, i would have to repeat the Materials Computation again in another drawing, which is not good to do. I wish there was a way to put the Mass Haul Line into the DataShortcut, and re-use it in any drawing without repeating the 'Compute Materials'.

I hope you understand what i mean.

Mass Haul diagrams in Civil have not been updated since i first started using Civil in the 2011 version and in my opinion are not fit for purpose but to answer you question there is no ability to data shortcut them and I'm not sure why you would need to?

I'm aware of your reasons - I just can't see why you would need a Mass Haul as a datashortcut as they are of limited use (for anything really)

Thank you for submitting your question in our discussion forums. I see you are visiting as a new member of the Civil 3D forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Camilo and Neil are right; we don't currently have the capability to support this. Your use case and example of how this functionality could be utilized are very helpful! Thank you! I recommend posting this idea to our Civil 3D Ideas forum.

Hi Wendy,

Thank you for the response.

On the side, my account had been reset to a newcomer as our company (Golder) was acquired by WSP. My older account (Efren7717) here had at least garnered some ranking in the past and contributed some ideas, but i lost them. Is there a way i can transfer the data from my old account (Efren7717) into this current account?

Cheers,

Efren

Hi Efren,

We recently had a similar case where someone encountered a similar issue due to a change in company affiliation. The recommendation was to change the email address associated with the previous account to a personal one. This helped retain the ranking and data related to the last account while allowing the user to continue contributing to the new account.

For more details on this, you can check out this thread: Help get my rating back.

Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance or have any other questions. We're here to help!
