Locking label style when labeling certain Civil 3D items

Hi All,

How would I lock a label style to override the specified label style selection in the command prompt for when you select a Civil3D item and attempt to label it by selecting the down arrow.

For example, we have a label that is specific for pipe in profile view. For me to activate this label, I would have to open the "Add Label" command prompt, adjust the "Label Type" for pipes in profile view, then I can label the pipe in the profile view.

I would like to be able to select this pipe in the profile view, and click the down arrow on the "Add Label" in the Ribbon, and label per the pipe in profile view.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks!

Sometimes it's easier to label by not selecting any object and just popping open the label dialogue box via AddLabels in Annotate\Labels & Tables in the ribbon.

Select the feature you're going to label, the label type, the label style(s), click Add, then click on as many objects as you want to put that label down.

If you select the object first and then run AddLabels in the contexual menu, it'll always select whatever style that's set in the command settings. It gets tedious and it seems like this is the issue you ran into...

You could add label styles to use for the pipe network in the Network properties settings.  Pipes from this network would then automatically be labeled when their added to a profile view.

Sadly, labelling pipes after they're added to a profile view don't use the network labeling setting but instead use the style specified in the command settings for that labelling command.

Labelling via the Annotate/Add Labels utility allows you to select the label style to use before placing the label.
