Today's query is in regard to using linetypes for Utility Plan sheets. In other environments I have used a linetype that is written to show the type ( W/ST/E/G ) and had a notation along the run with size. My current workplace has a method of using line labels elevations to create the tags. I find this later method of notation to have a number of flaws that can become unnecessary issues.
I am hopeful you guys can steer me towards information on writing better complex linetypes that will also adhere to ratio changes needed between Plan View needs.

Print out the acad.lin file and look into the styles that have text in it. Copy that linetype code to the end of th file and change the text added in the code. Make sure you rename the lineytpe to what you need. Look into the help if you need more info. You might want to make a copy of the original file and rename it. HTH
