Labeling data from property sets in bands

Hello dear forum members.

Has anyone ever labeled data from property sets in bands?

I have created a property set for pipes so that I can write street names on the pipes. This works very well and can be attached to the pipe labels on the map.

My question is: Is it also possible to do this in band styles?
There I can select and assign the definition, but the name of the definition and not the actual data is labeled.

I am afraid that this is not possible...🙄

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for reaching out to the forum. Property sets are not fully supported in band labels.

This has been requested already, please take the opportunity to click the Screenshot 2020-06-04 at 11.14.28.png button and add your support to the Idea. Votes on an idea will increase the likelihood that an idea will be implemented

As more users like an idea, its status can change from Gathering Support to Under Review, which indicates that the idea is being reviewed by the Civil 3D development team. If the idea is accepted for development, it will progress through the Accepted and Implemented stages. Alternatively, it might be classified for Future Consideration. Whenever an idea’s status is changed, the person who originally posted the idea as well as all the members who upvote it will be automatically notified. 🙂

In the meantime, here's what you can do instead. As Civil 3D data bands cannot properly show data from property sets, we can overcome this by using data from the property sets with pipe labels. See screencast below:

Note that I have setup an empty data band to accommodate the new profile label text. Hope that helps!

Hi @lim.wendy

This is a good solution, until it might work out with the band styles.
Thank you very much for the effort!

I had already found the idea and of course supported it right away. 😉

I do not see the "vote" button but I will be happy to vote.

I have just made some match line label styles using property sets, and they work fantasticly. And the property sets can be copied from one drawing to another using the style manager. However, when I copy the styles from one drawing to another, the references to the property sets are wrecked. Specifically, the field in the label that references a property loses the connection to the property (even though that property is present in the drawing).

So... all the references to to property set data need to be re-referenced in the new file (style settings) before the style will work. Is there a workaround for this, or can we have this updated also?

thanks,
