Issue with water main in profile view

I am encountering a new problem with a water main and how it displays in profile view and am wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem and can provide a fix.

For context, the road which the network follows has large radii, so the pressure network has been laid out with curves and straight sections. For a network roughly 3km long, it is only the last ~200 m that is problematic.

Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen? And a potential fix?

Yikes! That does not look fun.  Any chance you can post the drawing?  I think it would be difficult to determine the issue without the drawing.

Thanks.

Hi Travis, after looking at your file I was able to smooth out the jagged edges of the water line profile towards the end of the alignment:

I ended up having to add additional PI's to the pipe run alignment along the curve segment and that seems to have fixed the issue.  This was done by breaking the pipe run alignment at the valve, defining a new pipe run alignment with the additional PI's and then merging them back together.  I'm wondering if the fact that it was curving both horizontally and vertically over a large area was the reason why it ended up like that.  Also, another idea was to see about adjusting the cut lengths within the your parts catalog to see if that would have helped.

What version of Civil 3D are you running?

I see that it's 2023, but what update?

When were the pressure pipes made?

There are a lot of updates with Pressure Pipes that we need to keep in account.

@Gil_C, I am running 2023.3 Update. I am unsure when we last updated the software; however, the pipe run was created within the last 2 weeks.
