INTERNAL ERROR: !dbobji.cpp@8440: eNotOpenForWrite

Has anyone ever encountered the below error?

I was working in the planning and analysis tab, editing a legend style when AutoCAD crashed. Specifically, I was trying to change the scale of a hatch pattern. AutoCAD didn't recover data and I keep getting the above error. I tried to open on another machine under a different license and got the same result.

Any help is much appreciated.
