Importing XML file into Civil 3d scale and missing information issues

I am having problems importing a Landxml file into autocad civil 3d 2018. Two issues come up when I import the file, (1) the scale is wrong, (2) only part of the surface shows up.

Note: I have received both the cad file that I am importing into and the xml that is being imported from a surveyor. The cad file contains all the points and linework and the xml file contains the surface.

I have done some research into the scale issue and most people say that if you change the drawing units under the settings tab this will solve the issue. This has not worked in my case, I switched the drawing from international foot to US Survey foot. US survey foot is what the surveyor says he created the Landxml file in.

I have tried downscaling the surface by 1/12 which is a common thing done to standard cad files received from architects, this gets the surface lined up with all other survey information but does anyone know if this will cause problems in the future or if there is a way to avoid having to manually scale it by 1/12 ?

The second problem I am having is there should be at least twice as much survey as is showing up.  in the image below the yellow line shows the boundary of the surface as it has been imported and scaled but the red color shows the extents(more or less) to which the surface should be showing. Does anyone know why there is information missing?

Daniel,

Can you post your drawing and the XML?

The problem is in your screen capture.

You set your units in the Civil 3D drawing to inches.   Change it to feet.

Dave,

I opened the file this morning before posting the file here and I tried once more to insert the XML file and it worked just fine. It came in the correct scale and location with all the intended information. I don't know what the difference between this morning and Friday morning. Maybe just restating the computer over the weekend helped. Thanks for your response.

I can see what you are saying about the inches in the screen capture. The odd thing is inches are not even an option today for the drawing units, it can either be feet or meters. Somehow I must have changed something in the drawing last week that allowed inches to be one of the options.
