This is my last effort to figure out how to determine a dwg file version. Since we have installed Civil 3D 2022 it seems that the created by/dwg version information in almost every prior version is now irrelevant. After testing my theory, saving a 2010 dwt/dwg with 2022 for example, changes the file header and data showing that it is current to Civil 3D 2022(see attached files) even though that is not accurate. This is somewhat disconcerting because that is a specific way of figuring out why some files go corrupt or do not work properly as they should. In prior builds(i.e. 2018) a file would be saved and would still show "created with autocad 2010" but that is not the case any more. Has anyone found a way to determine the true origin of a dwt/dwg file after it's been saved forward in 2021/2022?? It definitely makes troubleshooting that much more tedious and rebuilding a template or problem dwg file "just in case" is extremely frustrating although does solve the problem quite a bit of the time. It also makes it tougher to show users the highly detrimental effects of the "save as". I know I can't be the only one who is mildly perturbed by this, hence searching for anyone who may be able to shed some light on the issue.
