What do you guys typically use for source drawings when working with data shortcuts?

For example, one drawings with survey points and og surface (OG surface reference), one drawing with corridor and corresponding design surface, one drawing with as-built points and volumes checks (for stock piles), one drawing with linework (which can be xref'd in)

I assume you then have a "main drawing" that is almost blank with all the layouts created in it? All of the items are shortcut or xref'd into this "main drawing", which is used to create your layouts.

I am self taught using data shortcuts, and wanted to see if anyone did things differently and the reasoning behind it. I would appreciate any tips/tricks or insights.

Thanks for you input!

Hi @£nn5, I hope you're doing fine. In my case, I'm a highway designer. I usually use this configuration

This may vary according to the needs of the designer and the activities to be undertaken. Best regards!
