how to creat random points

hello Friends how r u ? this is santosh rathore I have some problem using in civil 3d, some one tell me how is creat automatic random points on layout plan in every junctions

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish?

Do you want to set cogo points in a grid pattern? Say, a 25x25 grid? Do they need elevations (all the same or different)?

If you want random points, just use create points manual. If you have a surface, you can use create points surface on grid.

There is also a command to create random points on a surface.

hello sir i sending you a drawing u can see it. I can create random point on the drawing manualy i but i don't know how to create Automatic random on the drawing but is possible. can u tell me how is possible

Hi santosh,

You will get a much clearer answer if you clarify what you mean by
"random points" and what you need them for.

As it stands you are asking readers to guess what you want and so it's
near impossible to give a helpful answer.

I don't know of any way to automatically create points at every intersection and end of a network like you show. You might try asking in the Map 3D group to see if there is a way in map to create AutoCAD points on a network. Then you could convert them all to C3D points.

To me, those are not "random". They are specific to each node intersection of the lines. Do you need elevations associated with a surface at those nodes?

If those are polylines, points can be added to each node via the create points commands. Numbering can be made sequential if needed. Just be sure not to duplicate points at an intersection.
