Grading Optimization Isn't Showing Up

Hi, everyone.  I just installed Civil 3D 2025 and then installed the Grading Optimization package.  However, I can't seem to find it in my software.  It doesn't show up anywhere that I can see under the "analyze" tab, and the button on the home screen just takes me to the AutoDesk help area on how to download and install it (which I've already done).  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Grading Optimization is part of your standard Civil 3D 2025. There are no separate files to install.

What you installed has to have been 2023 or 2022.

Well, that is frustrating.  There were no directions/directives, so it's not clear at all.  After purchasing AutoCAD it took me to a folder with "my products" (image below).  I did install the 2023 Grading Optimization package since it was in the list right beside AutoCAD Civil 3D.  Should I just uninstall AutoCAD 2025 and start over?

Thank you for your reply!

I have the same issue. Did you come right in the end, if so how?

See my post about how absurd Autodesk's UI design is, especially in regards to GO. Might help you to find the proper one.

I never found the solution.  I assumed from the reply that there must be a simple solution I overlooked, but since I haven't had need to try grading optimization yet I didn't look into it any further (I was hoping someone might post something more!).  I'll take a look at your post, Cadguru, and see what it contains.  Hopefully I'll figure something out, and I'll post back here if I do.

I'm really shocked that no one from AuotDesk has chimed in.

Keep in mind that Grading Optimization isn't double-floating point precision. This means that if you want to grade something to elevation 500' it'll be between 499.95 and 500.05. It's a pain to use for actual plans because of this, but is great for getting a quick site plan.

Hi All,

Worked it out. If you have C3D 2025 (or C3D 2024 I guess) then you need to download the grading optimization extension. To access this click on "View Details" below the download link for the product you are running and then go to extensions. See image below:

Muzmatt--

I was going to post the same thing after trying the solution CadGuru posted.  It worked perfectly.  So, so confusing to see "Grading Optimization" under "my products" and that NOT being what you're supposed to install.  AutoDesk needs to do better.

Thanks to everyone for replying to my post!!
