Grading Optimization Error

I have used the GO feature in the 2022 install of Civil 3D. Since then we have moved on to C3D 2024 and I have installed the '24 GO extension. I just went to assign a closed polyline as a grading object and received this error. Any ideas?

This can be one of many issues, I have fixed this in the past with the registered tools path as explained in this document.  Don't do this if you are not familiar with editing the registry.

Take a look at this autodesk doc.

"Unable to execute the tool" when clicking any tool in the tool palettes in Autodesk Civil 3D

I saw this doc and hoped getting into the registry wasn't the fix. There doesn't seem to be any documentation on uninstalling an AutoCAD extension either. I wonder if I could get a clean uninstall and reinstall it would work. Such a hassle defaulting the program and getting back profiles and customization IMO...

I would start by resetting settings to default, it's the least aggressive and may help.
