Exporting points points to a CSV file error

When exporting points to a CSV file, the attributes in column (F) are over-writing existing attributes in column (K). This just recently started and not sure what is causing this to happen. Any suggestions?

More info like what?

Don't know what else to say other than after inserting a CSV file into a DWG and then exporting the points out to a new CSV file,  the attributes in column "F" are duplicating themselves (some cases, over-writing existing data) in column "K".

Dan,
Please post your drawing and the original CSV file. Another set of eyes on your UDP and Point File Format might catch something you missed.

If you want a csv file you can simply copy the point info. Right click All Points and select Edit Points. (Image-1)

1-Right click All Points.1-Right click All Points.

The PANORAMA will appear. Highlight all rows so they're blue, right click then select Copy to Clipboard. (Image-2)

2-Highlight all rows, right click, then copy to clipboard.2-Highlight all rows, right click, then copy to clipboard.

Open a blank spreadsheet, highlight cell A1, right click and select PASTE. The clipboard contents will appear in THEIR respective rows and columns. Perform a SAVE AS in csv format.

There are many formats of CSV files. The most common is PNEZD and the longest OOTB. You mention column F and K

PNEZD

ABCDEFGHIJK

You must have a lot of user data or other fields. Anyone trying to help will have to see what kind of data you have and how you've set up the CSV file format for export.

What @AllenJessup , @ChicagoLooper  and @Pointdump say. Plus, I see reference to this issue when people add new classifications to the "unclassified" set instead of creating their own new set.

Dan,
Thanks for posting your drawing and data.
Here's what I see. In your "As Built-ACMP" Point File Format I didn't see any of your "CHKM" User-Defined Property Classifications. When I added them to a "As Built-ACMP_2" Point File Format, all the classifications seem to slot themselves in correctly. Please check the attached drawing and CSV files.

can not open your attached DWG - newer version. I am using Civil 2017.

Dan,
Sorry about that. Unfortunately, I don't have 2017. Please check this attached "EXPORTED_2" CSV file to see if the Export worked from my drawing. And please post a Screen Shot of your "As Built-ACMP" Point File Format. I'm wondering if there are version-specific problems with Point File Formats.

the file looked ok, except for missing columns 'L,M & N'.

Dan,
I didn't notice those missing columns. OK, so to get L,M, and N you would need to add "ATT7","ATT8", and "ATT9" to your CHKM User-Defined Property Classifications and then add all of those ATT1-9 UDP's to your Point File Format.(Replace those <unused> columns.)
