Export Civ3D drawing Layouts to One Drawing

Currently the Export Civil 3D options will let you export Layouts as well but it creates separate files for all of them. I am hoping to be able to Export all the Layouts and Model tabs to one combined exported drawing file.

@awkeller88,

I would love to help you with the issue, but I think I might be confused in your request. If you want to export an AutoCAD Civil 3D drawing in its entirety in one file combining all of the original tabs; Model, Layout 1, Layout 2, Layout 3...so on? I think it would just be a function to do a "save-as" in the desired format?

Again, I might be confused, but I hope this has answered your question.

I am not entirely sure how but we managed to export the drawing as I wanted. We ended up with two different results by two different users. One ended up with many files, one for each layout/model tab, the other (myself) ended up with all them in one file. Just not sure why.

A Civil3D "save-as" will not save to previous versions (ie. 2018 to 2017). We use the Export Civil3D drawings tool to export the Civil3D objects to native AutoCAD types and file types to previous versions for clients with older versions, or who don't have Civil3D.

Hi @awkeller88, if you need to export civil 3D drawings to earlier version of autocad you could use EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command.  Also CLICK HERE

@awkeller88,

Thats great news! Do you mind if I ask what the solution was so as to help others trying to accomplish the same thing?

We don't have a solution. The problem is that we are getting different results when exporting using the Export Civil3D drawing between users. Thinking it may be something with the file. We export from 2018 to 2013 then attempt to open it in 2016 and it says that there is objects from a newer version and we cannot save the drawing. We are also getting different results between users when exporting but I think that may be just user error. I'll have to try it on a different file when I get back.

@awkeller88,

I believe the post @user181 made is the greatest way. EXPORTTOAUTOCAD is the most universal solution in regards to a daily workflow and retaining the greatest usability, to export Civil 3D 201X to another version; readable to any version, older or to AutoCAD (if they install Object Enablers for Civil 3D).

The real caveat to file version changes are that; although, typically the core objects and gross data is compatible, the AEC objects are very version specific, and not reverse compatible. There are ways to make the objects that are incompatible, appear as they should by incorporating "Object Enablers", but they lose their editable characteristics.

I hope that answers your question.

Hello, everyone.

I found out that if you uncheck the include sheets option, it will export the model and all the layouts inside the drawing.

I hope it helps everyone.
