DXF Feature Linework Using More Decimal Places Than CSV File

My Trimble Access controllers are set up with code lists that create feature lines based on specified codes. This linework is then able to be exported to .dxf format to be inserted into our drawings. The problem I'm running into is that the .csv is exported with 3 decimal places, while the dxf is exported with ~15 decimal places. This causes some errors in the workflow when working with surfaces. Is there a way to easily reduce the decimal places for the .dxf to 3? Or at least a way to get them to match in Trimble Access?

Maybe check the units settings in Trimble Access.

I've checked all the relevant settings in Trimble Access and I don't believe there are any options that affect this. I do agree it has to be something on that end, more so than with civil3D but I'm just hoping somebody else has run into this issue before.

Hi,

I am dealing with the same issue. I succeed to increase .csv decimal (0.1234 max) but not enough compared to linework .dxf decimals (0.123456). If you found a solution to decrease .dxf decimal, tell me.

I wish I did. I know some companies use Trimble Business Center to export their dxf with a specified number of decimal places but that doesn't really ease the workflow for us, it just adds extra steps. We just got into the routine of adding breaklines to surfaces before adding point groups which helps avoid the overlapping issues that this caused. It's far from a perfect solution so I would still love to figure out a proper workflow for this.
