Hello,
Currently we are working on big BIM infrastructure project, where cooperation with many different design companies is needed. The core task is to coordinate everything in DWG, because we have to work with both DWGs and DGN mostly. There are approx. 200-300 xrefs in 3D, the goal is to attach them to one master plan...
As is shown in attached zip file - the file sizes for the same part of the road are following:
Bentley Microstation - 3D Mesh - 3.3MB
Autodesk Civil 3D - 3D Generic Mesh - 1.7MB
Autodesk Civil 3D - 3D Solids generated from corridor - 33.3MB - this is our common output.
Why the same geometry in solids is almost 20x bigger?
It is clear that size of memory matters...
Thanks
Martin
