Creating a slope label that ISN'T tied to a surface

Is there a way to create a line segment label that displays the slope between two objects?   We don't use surfaces, but have a block for our spot elevations.  The block uses it's Z value to display the elevation.  I'd like to create (or find) a label that will use the z-value of both objects, and the distance between them, to display the percent slope, again, there are no surfaces in this drawing to pull elevations from.

Mostly this would be used to label driveway slopes (we need to show overall slope from garage door to property line) but we could easily use it to label swales or other areas.

Absolutely. You can create a line label style that displays the slope of the line and then label a "Line between 2 points".

Thanks Brian.  A little more playing, and I did see how to use the General Segment Grade as my displayed text.  The next step, which I didn't mention earlier, how do I make the label dynamic.... If I raise the house and all associate elevations, how do I get the slope to automatically update?
