I'd posted recently about a problematic drawing that when opening seemed to be constantly rebuilding a grading but never finishing and in the process created some 75Gb of tmp files.
I have salvaged this dwg now and want to delete the gradings but retain the surface so is it possible to easily separate the two? I know it can be done during grading creation and I'm currently copying the feature lines to new sites, creating the surface and deleting the old sites totally
TIA

Create a snapshot on the surface before removing the Gradings.

Did you do it and have an issue? I thought you got in and around the process. does that mean you have yet to have a surface from the grading?
I tested by making the Grading with automatic surface on. Done.
then detached the surface
then deleted the grading

You can also export to LandXML and re-import.

I think the gradings may be causing the problem with my drawing (no surprises there) and want to delete them - I'll try the detach surface option on Monday

@Neilw_05 & @tcorey - thanks for the suggestions both more efficient than my current attempts - fairly minor gradings luckily...:)
@Joe-Bouza I'll give the detach surfaces option a try on Monday - not sure I have ever had cause to use to before...:)
