Create Grading with Multiple Slopes

Hello,

I am trying to use grading tools to design a pad.  The outside of the pad is based on an existing surface.  I have created a feature line for the outside.  The pad itself needs to have a flat work area.  The work area is fixed horizontally but can be adjusted vertically to balance my cut/fill volumes.  I need to create a grading that runs from the flat area at a slope of 1%, which then changes to a grade of 3:1 to target the outside edge of the pad.

I know there is a work around to do this by creating grading from each line separately.  Just wanted to see if there is a way to do it in a single grading.

I can't quite picture what you are trying to do (a sketch would help) but have you considered using a corridor for this?

Below is a screenshot of a rough approximation of what I need.

If I am getting this right, and you wish to keep the shape of the white toe of cut -

Create a grading from the flat area out at 1% for a set distance beyond the white toe of cut line. (you may need to make a separate feature line around the flat are to compensate for the internal corner)

Make a surface out of the 1% grading and the flat area feature line.

Set the toe of cut feature line elevations from the surface just created.

Create a grading from the white toe of cut feature line to the original ground at 3:1.

The shape and location of the white line is determined by the intersection of the 3:1 slope from the yellow line and the 1% grade from the blue line.  The method you have described is what I have been doing and works well, just a little inconvenient to have the grade to distance feature line in the drawing.

If there is no other solution, I'm happy.
