Corridor Cul-De-Sac Alignment

I have seen several videos on Corridor Cul-De-Sac and pretty much have the gist of it. Question is the alignment of the cul de sac. Some videos have the alignment starting at the center of the cul-de-sac while others have the alignment go through the center and tie-in at the far side mid point of the ETW line. Which one is the correct method of designing?

I actually have the alignment extend beyond the sidewalk so the profileview can display the FG profile (sampled from the FG surface). I mask the portion beyond the RP.

Thanks Jeff.

"RP"? Radius point?

Extending beyond the radius point (RP) will also allow you to show network pipes and structures in those areas in the profile views.

Hello,

I have used both methods.

In Texas, i used the alignment following the curb line.

this allowed creating low points for curb inlets.

(and that was not a problem, as ALL the utilities had their own alignments and plan/profile sheets)

I am now in Washington, and here we extend the alignment through the cul-de-suc and another 50-feet.

we do not have separate plan/profile sheets for all the utilities.

hope this helps.

good luck,

Are there any videos showing the design process of a cul-de-sac road? I encountered problems while designing a cul-de-sac road. Can someone please provide a step-by-step procedure for building it?
