Convert Star*Net DAT to FBK Command not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm running Civil 3D 2017 and I have everything installed including the survey extensions (I think) because I can run Survey Link DC under "Home -> Create Ground Data" and can run all the utilities under "Toolspace -> Toolbox -> Miscellaneous Utilities" except that the "Convert Star*Net DAT to FBK" command doesn't work.  Attached is a screen shot of my desktop.  Thanks

I would check under report settings and verify that it is installed and/or pointing to the correct location.

Paul,

Can you embellish a little on "doesn't work"? Maybe a screen shot or even zip and post your StarNet file?

I get the same error:

Unknown command "AECCCONVERTSTARNETDATTOFBK".

Don't know why.

Allen,

Right-click >> Execute brings up this:

Starnet.png

But I've got no data to test.

Dave,

Not for me. I tried both a Dbl-clk and Rt-clk > execute. I also tried creating a Network first. I get Unknown Command every time.

This is a known issue for Infrastructure Design Suite Premium and Ultimate users. Fix is here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-civil-3d/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticl...

Dave probably has Civil 3D and not the suite and that's why his works.

Pointdump: I did put a screenshot in my original post.

tcorey: The new AeccTransportationX.dll file solution is now giving me an error of "Invalid execute file: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2017\c3d\AeccTransportationX.dll."  I tried the other solutions here too.  Screenshots attached!

No problem pointdump.  Appreciate the help anyway!

Attached is another screenshot showing that I put the ProjectSummaryReport in the correct folder as instructed.

Sorry, all. I found the article and posted the "solution" before I tested it myself. I am getting the same error. I will create an Autodesk support case. I suspect they posted the wrong DLL on that solution page.

I have heard back from the Autodesk technical rep. She is escalating the issue. I will follow up as soon as I hear back.

Another update. The case was escalated within Technical Support at Autodesk and the representative has recognized the problem. She said they have taken down the link I posted above and the issue has been forwarded to the software engineer for resolution.

I will continue to report results to this thread.

Tim

Hi,

Under the precondition of using the new AeccTransportationX.dll (659), please try this:

1. Navigate to acad.exe.config (parallel to acad.exe).

2. Add "<loadFromRemoteSources enabled="true" />"  between <runtime> </runtime>tag

3. Save the config file and start C3D.

Let me know if it works. It's doubted as a .Net dll loading security issue.

Hi all,

Further to Jason's post, for clarity, I've included a screenshot of the string that needs to be added to the "acad.exe.config" file located in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2017

ACAD_exe_config.PNG

Please let us know if it's not working.

Thanks and appreciate all your feedback.
