Hi everyone,

I'm new to Civil, and I can't seem to figure out how to configure my CSV file to open. Anyone else able to import the file?

Reduce that file to the Northing, Easting, Elevation columns for now (delete the other columns), and try again with a matching format. Then add the desired columns back in, one at a time, and test each step. You may have to create a new format inside of Civil 3D depending on what columns you want to ingest.

Hi Melvin,
That's not a "normal" point file. To import that CSV you'd have to add a lot of UDP's(User Defined Properties). Or you'd need to turn it into a shapefile.
I lost count of how many columns there are in that CSV. If you want to use it to create points in Civil 3D, I'd delete most of the columns in Excel, then go from there. What data in that file do you need?

Open a new excel sheet.

Copy the first 4 columns of your csv to that excel (Point name, Northing, Easting, Elevation)

Then copy the points name data and paste it to a fifth column after elevation column.

Now replace the point names of your first column with point number like 1,2,3 etc.

Now save the excel as csv file and import it to Civil 3D with the point file format PNEZD.

make sure when you import point your excel file is closed.

Melvin,
I created a Shapefile from your CSV file. Drag-n-Drop it into your drawing.
