Disappearing Pressure Networks

Happens in both C3D 2020 & 2021

We have a dwg with two WFS data connections to our GIS. When we data ref in pressure networks at first they show up, but then they disappear. Sometimes as the WFS features populate you actually see the network disappear - Poof! It's gone. All layers are on/thawed. Regenall does nothing. You can select the network, but no grips show up. You can zoom to the network but look at blank space. All the parts show up in Prospector and the styles are correct. This happens across machines, i.e., to more than one user. We have capable CAD machines. This happens in multiple projects. It doesn't matter if Civil 3D or Planning & Analysis workspace is current. The only remedy I have found is to delete the networks and ref them in again, but this is temporary until it happens again (close & re-open the drawing).

I can't share a drawing because our WFS connections are secure - not available to the public. I know it isn't much information and actually I'd be surprised if anyone knows what is going on. Maybe a-desk will take notice (ha!) and look into this.

Update. I found that the drawings had the dreaded "The parts list references a catalog that cannot be found" error. I fixed that everything was good, happy dance.

No. Re-opening the dwg disappeared the networks.

BUT, I now notice that it is not just pressure networks but *all* objects in model space. I can list the disappeared objects, I cannot select them not by picking or crossing, but I can by using the prospector or with Quick Select. Maybe this belongs in the Map 3D forum, but the common denominator is the WFS connection. The objects are there, they just don't appear on the screen.

wtf? This is going to really hose our plan production.

a workaround which is barely tolerable is to delete everything (pressure networks) then put them back in via data ref. right now that is what i am doing to get the dang plans out. Now I notice that if i select layouts and publish, using the default page setup, the networks do not plot. if i plot the layout tabs one by one using the same stinking page setup the networks DO plot.

maybe it's time to log off for the day.
