Hey Everyone,
I am just wondering what your preferred method of grading curb ramps are? Almost all of my design projects have curb ramps that are in curb extensions, and I have to meet existing back of walk and existing edge of road while staying within slope parameters. Is it Corridor, Grading Object, Feature Lines, something else?
Thanks!
It's difficult to give a general answer, because there are so many types of curb ramps and a lot depends on the exact site, but for most curb ramps I use feature lines (top/bottom/sides of ramp, flares, cheek walls, etc.) and I manually adjust the elevations to ensure it's within slope parameters.
IMHO if they are dimensionally sound the grade fall out.
you can run the corridor typical section and build the surface then drape FL over the Ped ramp and past together in a composite surface.
you can ad regions or conditional assemblies that drop the curb and target the back
Transsoft has a dedicated grading tool

Thanks for the response, what do you mean if the ramps are dimensionally sound?
If the typical section is say for a 6" curb reveal, the length of flares, depth of throat make the ramp ADA compliant.
One of our municipalities refuses to show elevations. Only dimension

I'm a big fan of the new corridor workflow, particularly since the 2024.4 update. Using a corridor transition to control the curb height and then adding feature lines for the rest of the ramp.
Ooooo! That is big. Cant wait to use it

I will try to record a video - today isn't crazy busy, I think everyone is mentally on the 4th of july holiday.
When is the 4th of July! 😮

Found time to record that video. This is more general about the feature line corridor workflow, rather than just curb ramps. I do cover curb ramp and corridor transtion, but I don't do the basic feature line part.
