Automatic Split Profile Views

Good afternoon! I’m trying to set up profile views for a very long project, which makes it difficult to do the work manually. The problem is that Civil 3D’s automatic split option is presenting many issues, making it an unreliable solution. When using Automatic Split with Station Rounding and Datum Rounding set to ‘Previous minor grid,’ Civil 3D does not generate the splits correctly. Does anyone know how to configure this properly, or suggest a solution using Dynamo or Python?

Hey!

Works for me (See screenshot), and the one with the setup.

It works however I set it up.

HOWever, you have to keep in mind that, if you lock to minor station/elevation, the minor stations/elevation have to be a divisor of the desired height. So, if you entered 18, you should use 1, 2, 3, 6 or 9. Else, i guess it could snap to scarsley.

Try to setup EXACT station and datum, select your Height, and see what happens 🙂

Also, if you have a profile view style that shows elevations on both vertical axes outside, it might be confusing to read the elevations one next to the other.

Cheers,

Iggy
