Hello,
When I import shape files into AutoCAD C3D 2020 using MAPIMPORT command, I do not always get the attribute data. I choose the "Create object data" option and make sure all the fields are selected, but I only end up with a polyline. The shape file has all the associated files in the same folder. Is there a new patch out there?
Thanks
Joe

Can you see Object Data in Property Palette?
Like Joe said, select create object data, and then in the pop-up also select Create Object data. If necessary, you can limit the data imported.
Hi Joe,
Here's something to check. If your drawing already has an Object Data Table of the same name, it won't add any attributes. Use command ADEDEFDATA to see.
As @Joe-Bouza says, it would be best to post your shapefile and drawing.

The error might be, might NOT be, an error during the MapImport procedure.
If you really want to get to the bottom of it, invest a few minutes and run an experiment.
First, run MapImport on the shapefile (be sure to Create Object Data during import). Second, while in the same dwg, bring in the exact same shapefile using a Data Connection.
<<You can toggle shapefile (display/hide) in the Map Task Pane.>>
Now that you have both (a) the shapefile and (b) the imported line work on top of one another in modelspace, you can see how the AutoCad OD compares to the ESRI Table. If the OD is consistent with the Table then it’s all good. If not then analyze your MapImport procedure. You may have imported a copy of the shapefile, not the original. Or you may have skipped the ‘Create Object Data’ part during import.
Shapefile minimum:
All 4 components must be in the same folder. If the dbf is in a separate folder (or nonexistent), then Create Object Data will fail.

Thanks everyone for your input but it just seems like a glitch in my profile since it works sometimes and sometimes not. I will be upgrading to 2023 so hopefully it will work itself out.
