3 Sided Earthworks

Hi there,

We are placing a platform into a side of the mountain and it will 3 sides of cut but I am not sure how to show that in Civils 3D?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Bill

Hi @william_beaumontGMYRE

First of all you should approach it with the grading tools

Did you?

Hi there,

No I didn't - it is built up with alignments, profiles and corridors. I am not familiar with using grading tools. Is that a better method?

Hi @william_beaumontGMYRE

Yes for design regarding buildings the grading tools are better (and more easy and simple that corridor).

I think it worths to spend some time and understand how grading tools are working. You just need proper feature lines and then you can design what ever you want.

Corridor could work with more time and complexity...

Share the concept for the earthworks around your proposed building (slopes+widths) and i can give you recommendations

Fairly simple - require 2 pads at 60x40m which are level @ 800m elevation and a haul road up to them at no more that 1 in 10 gradient

You are done.

add a base line and  assembly connecting the end of you corridor
