Hello all,
I work at a civil engineering/ land surveying firm. I've recently been studying up on Action Macros. They are pretty nifty to say the least, however, I'm having trouble getting the recorder to record certain commands. My end goal is to simplify the whole changing description key set order and applying the keys.
When we do topographic maps we usually show an "x" and spot elevation rotated at a 45 degree angle for spot elevations on our hard copies. Default points are "x" (Pnt No, Desc., Elev) stacked. So to get them how i want to ultimately show them I have to got to the toolbox>settings>descriptionkeysets>right click>properties>manually change order then go to prospector>points>all points>right click>apply description keys. This isn't a problem for me, but my boss is old guys. You know the whole old dogs and new tricks. I'm pretty sure that's a factual statement.
Back before the ribbon we used Eagle Point and all that could be done by going to the layer manager and turning off 2 layers. I don't think I can get the action recorder to do what I'm wanting to do and I'm not familiar with LISP routines but I'm willing to learn. Someone maybe lead me in the right direction, please?

Probably I am not fully understanding where the point is coming from. But, couldn't you create a point label style that displays Elevation only and set rotation to 45° . Assign that label style to your Desc Key Set for your spot elevation shots so that is all accomplished automatically upon import?
Use two point groups that have the same points. Then change the order of priority back and forth to get the correct point label style.
