Civil 3D 2026 CUI missing toolbars

Hello,

I would like to customize/copy toolbars to condense my toolbar array but they seem to be missing from my CUIX file. My fist picture shows the available toolbars, on the left, that are functioning in my drawing/profile but they are not present in the CUI Customization menu (picture 2 is what it should look like).

My LOCKUI is set to (0), MENUBAR is set to (1), I've unloaded and reloaded the CUIX file located in the file C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\C3D 202x\enu\Support) (both C3D.CUIX and civil.CUIX) , I've tried loading the backups and default versions located in the file C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 202x\C3D\UserDataCache\en-us\Support), and the toolbars are not properly displayed in the CUI menu.

Any help is appreciated. Is there a page on the Autodesk website to download default files like .CUIX?

I have tried loading the c3d.CUIX and civil.CUIX files with the same result. It sounds like the toolbars are still being referenced by your current workspace/profile, but the toolbar definitions themselves are missing or not properly loaded in the active CUIX file.

A few things you can try:

Run CUILOAD and verify which CUIX files are loaded;

In the CUI editor, check both:

Main Customization File

Partial Customization Files

Civil 3D toolbars are often stored in civil.cuix, not only C3D.cuix;

Try resetting Civil 3D settings using:

Reset Settings to Default” from the Windows Start Menu.

About default files:
Yes, Autodesk installs clean default CUIX files in:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 202x\C3D\UserDataCache\en-us\Support

You can copy those files back to your roaming profile folder after backing up your current ones.

Also, if the toolbars appear on screen but not inside CUI, it may indicate:

a corrupted workspace/profile;

or an incomplete migration from a previous version.

In some cases, creating a new AutoCAD profile fixes the issue completely.

Thank you for your help!

I had already tried a few things like CUILOAD, copying files over from the program files, and the user profile did not seem to be causing the issue either.
Thanks to your input I figured out I could transfer the toolbars from one of the partial CUIX files (acad.cuix). I am kind of new to CUIX files so I wasn't aware there are partial files and like with most things in AutoCAD, you cant find it unless you know the proper nomenclature. When copying over the toolbars into the same dropdown the system did register that they are there because it required overwriting to be copied over. Once they were copied over they all appeared undocked on screen (see picture). Weirdly this caused my docked and autohidden layer manager on the right edge to flicker. Saving the updated full CUIX, closing unneeded toolbars, and making an updated user profile seems to have fixed the flickering (see video).
