I would like the collapsible Materials/BCs/ICs/Motion/Groups folders and subsections to stay how you left them, or at least auto collapse. I've realised I spend a large amount of time collapsing 'Material' and then each group in turn to easily access the ones at the bottom - all subsections auto expand when you assign parts to a group. When you clone a design with many scenario sometimes you don't want to clone everything. The ability to select clone all or clone selected so we could pick which ones to clone would quicken the cloning process. One example you wouldn't want to clone everything is when you are cloning after running a model that you saved cycles with adaptation.

With the release of 2014 the XYZ triad was removed from the navigation cube. Please bring this back as it is very useful when setting up models and you need to determine what your basic flow direction is. Now you need to zoom back out to look at the larger triad or find the origin triad and remember what the colors represent.

This option would be especially useful when you are running with ISC enabled or free surface to get a better idea of how long the solver has progressed. There is a common mis-conception, especailly with free surface, that the time step is always 0.01 (if using guidelines), when it is really based on the free surface courant calculation.

We've heard from several folks that an automatic report generator would be a valuable addition to Simulation CFD. We'd like to get a better understanding of how much demand there is for this (+kudos if you agree!) and what an ideal report generator would look like from your point of view (leave your comments!). As a user I want to be able to access my results without needing to wait to open each one of my finished scenarios and wait for them to processed. This can take a lot of time especially if you take advantage of 360 to run multiple simulations overnight. We understand compiling these results without having the UI open would be difficult, but being able to tell the UI after you have opened the design study to loop through all pending jobs would save some time from having the user cycle through each finished job.

I can be helpfull to show suppressed elements in results, but they must be turned on one by one. Please allow users to select all or a group and check the "visible" box all at once.

Add the ability to define the resolution of static images when exporting. It would be nice to get some higher resolution images into my reports. Also, the text of the scale bare should be a standard vector-based font such as Arial so that it does not look pixelated.

Some customers are facing the problem of license crashing due to network fluctuation. Due to the license crashing they are losing the already completed iteration and have to start analysis again. Added abilty where we can save all my completed iteration automatically without losing the data when the license is lost? This it beyond the saved intervals options. This would be the equivalent of click on the 'stop' button if the license was lost.

Simulation CFD currently models open tanks and reservoirs using a Height of Fluid (HoF) approach. Many applications involve mixing, sloshing, and pouring where a representation of the free surface of a liquid is necessary to accurately model the physics.

Dear Sim Team, I really like working with the cloud. It enables me as well to run bigger models. As far as I know you now have 64Gb or Ram on the servers on the cloud. So when I have a big analysis I could run over that limit and my calculation will take forever but I might not even realise it's due to the Ram consuption. So it would be great if there would be an extra field in the job details that say's how much ram I'm using for my sim. Thanks! David

The scalar model used in Autodesk CFD show abnormal behaviour in terms of scalar quantity. The following images show scalar, velocity magnitude and turbulent energy based on a scenario where two gases are injected into a large chamber. Mixing is underestimated [diffusive - not convective?] compared to experience and other software . Based on conversations with Autodesk support [feel free to comment], this is is a result of a solver using only diffusion coefficient rather than eddy viscosity to calculate solve the scalar trasport equation. An update is critical - without this, the current scalar mixing implementation is of limited use.

I'd like to be able to run a CFD analysis involving heating of a piece of equipment. We are expecting non-uniform temperatures throughout the body and want to understand what sort of stresses will result. Do others see value in running a Simulation CFD analysis and using the temperature field as a load in a stress analysis in Simulation Mechanical?

Currently Simulation CFD has control modes that provide navigation that is similar to other CAD packages, however it would be helpful if it were more aligned with other tools like Simulation Mechanical and MoldFlow. Also

Provide in the ribbon a button to pop up a list of planes. Reason: When I have many planes, or even two at the same location, it is hard to select the desired plane. If they each had a number and were in a list (the list should show the normal vector too for identification) it would be easy to select the intended plane. The list should allow you to add/delete planes directly. Further enhancement: allow user to copy existing planes with settings intact.

Currently results planes list in the design study bar but are not linked to the display window. When multiple planes are in use, it would be beneficial to be able to select the plane from the design study bar and initiate edits on the plane and have the selected plane highlight in the display window. Defining a results plane as a summary plane should be toggled option. Currently a plane designated as a summary plane cannot be undone.
