BIM 360 Design subscription and BIM 360 Docs subscription.

Hello.

I was trying the trial version of BIM 360 Design and I was reading about the difference between BIM 360 Design and BIM 360 Docs in these posts (sorry, both are in Spanish but the second has videos in English):

http://blogs.autodesk.com/latam/2018/07/30/bim-360-design-para-la-colaboracion-de-modelos-revit/

http://blogs.autodesk.com/latam/2018/09/21/autodesk-bim-360-la-plataforma-que-cambiara-la-forma-de-g...

Before reading them, I understand that BIM 360 Design is for managing information about my projects (as team members, companies, roles, etc...) and sharing Revit models in the cloud (like Collaboration for Revit); and BIM 360 Docs is the Document Management module for BIM 360 platform (that includes Glue, Build and Ops), where I can make annotations in 3D model views or 2D sheets as Markups and Issues and navigate through them.

My question is if getting a BIM 360 Design license I can use Document Management module to view 3D models from Revit (for example) or I need to get a BIM 360 Docs license to be able to view those models or to use markups and issues. Is it necessary get both licenses or BIM 360 Design includes BIM 360 Docs?

Greetings,

Álvaro.

Hi Alvaro,

Thank you for your question.

A BIM 360 Design license entitles you to use BIM 360 Docs.

BIM 360 Design needs BIM 360 Docs to work (that is where the files are stored in the cloud), so you will have Docs in any case.

I hope this clarifies your question.

Cheers,

Luciane

Hi

I have an additional question about the licensing policy. We are working on a project with 5 internal employees and 13 external partners. This via bim 360 design. We have started a bim 360 docs environment. Do we also need to provide the docs licenses of our external partners? De BIM 360 design licenses are provided by everybody themselves , but as far as I know the docs licenses do not fall under the BYOS policy...

Thanks a lot!
