Free viewer roll which doesn't allow downloads?

There is a lot of mixed information on these forums from Autodesk surrounding the View role, so I would like to ask.

Where is Autodesk currently at with;

• Not allowing a View role to download the source file to fix a data security issue?
• And, providing a free view-only user type?

Both of these are significant barriers to adoption. I have created Ideas for them at the following two links.

I wanted to follow up with regards to your forum post.  Thank you for taking the time to post to the BIM 360 Ideas site.  This will give a place for the Product Management team to see comments/concerns from our customers as well as reach out if they require additional feedback.

Hi Chad,

Thank you for sharing this feedback.  The "view (but no download)" option is on the product roadmap, and we are also considering the addition of a "share view" option.

hi @joan_allen. Considering you mentioned this being a part of the roadmap in March of 2018, I am just checking in to see how long this roadmap is? Are we talking Months or Years????
