Share by Email - Selecting Recipients

There seems to be a bug when choosing to share a file or folder by email.  I start to type the recipient's name so that the selection list below populates.  However, when I've chosen the recipient from the selection list my initial typing doesn't disappear.  I have to backspace to remove the typed characters so that I can start typing the next recipient's name.

@anil_mistry, what should I be doing to get this reported to Autodesk as a bug?

hi @kmuir and @Unknown_Account59 ,

I've reported it but I did find an alternative for now. For instance start typing "kar" to get Karen Muir's email addres to show up. After selecting the email name the pretyped text shifts to the right of the new email as you mentioned.

However, if you click ANYWHERE on screen it deletes the text and leaves only the email.

Cheers!

hi @Unknown_Account59 and @kmuir,

Doubling back again today with the official word. It's not a bug, it's designed behavior.

Without functioning this way multi-select mode would not work. If the typing was cleared after a single selection, you would be unable to select multiple users via the same criteria. For instance, if you wanted to add John Doe and John Smith to the same share by email you would have to type John twice.

So the best bet is to just do a click on the screen and start fresh with a different name should you need to add more.

Thanks!

It surprises me that it is designed that way because it is inconsistent with the typing/selection process for adding a member to a project.  In that case, once you select from the populated list your typed characters disappear.  If you're adding multiple people from the same company you have to re-type the first few characters from their email domain.  This is my preference to how the dialog box should respond.
