Missing Communicator

The Communicator is gone in BIM 360 2019. Users are not able to tell when they synchronized last and who is synchronizing.

Is this feature coming back anytime soon? This seems like a major step back in communications. The chat application was not good, but we do need to know about synchronization.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for participating in our community! Would you be able to let me know which BIM 360 product you are referring to? Was this functionality was in BIM 360 Docs? Please provide detail information so I can provide more information.

Thank you and have a great day!

Hi @anil_mistry,

The communicator is a part of BIM 360 Design.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-cloud-worksharing-forum/communicator-eliminated-in-2019/td-p/80...

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...

The latest info we can get is 'Autodesk is working on replacing essential communicator functionality in future Revit releases.' This is pretty silly considering they removed a pretty essential working tool and no we dont know when it will come back.

Regards

Hello and thank you for the feedback.  It is true that the feature was removed with the move to BIM 360 Design incorporating to Document Management and that it had to do with SOC2 compliance.  You can vote on the idea station to raise the priority, but I can tell you that we've heard this feedback loud and clear and appreciate further validation of its need.

Good to hear this may be getting worked on, however, it appears we have now lost this in 360 team now.  With the recent upgrade to TLS and the subsequent switchover on the 3rd the communicator now just sits at the login window.  Maybe I am missing something as I can find nothing on the upgrade and its effect on team.

The update should not have affected the communicator.  Can you please PM me and we can get some more details and investigate what could be the issue?
