Hello,

And thank you for participating in your community.

Both actions you are looking for are available at the account admin level. So to be able to bulk import members or to add companies, you will need to be an account admin, as explained in the articles you mentioned.

To bulk import Members.

You can bulk-import multiple members to an account by using a spreadsheet.

1. In account administration, click Members.

2. Click Add > Import Members By Spreadsheet.

3. Do one of the following:

4. For a first-time import, click Download A Member List Template and open it with Excel. In the template, replace the example entries with your actual member details, one member per row, and save the file. Then click Choose File to select the spreadsheet.

5. If you have a properly formatted member list spreadsheet, click Choose File and select the spreadsheet.

6. Click Start Import.

To add companies.

You can add companies to the company directory or import companies from a Microsoft Excel file. When you add companies to the directory, any project administrator can use the search feature to invite them to their project without creating duplicate entries.

1. In account administration, click Companies.

2. Click Add.

3. In the Create Company dialog, specify the company name.

4. Enter or select a trade from the list.

5. For Company Logo, click Browse to upload an image.

6. Click Save to add the company to the directory.

I hope this was helpful.

If my post answered your questions, thank you for accepting it as a solution so that other community members can see it and use it if they encounter the same issue.

Best regards,

Bogdan

Hello and thank you for the above solutions. These provide clear instruction on adding bulk users and companies at the account level.

Is there a way to add bulk users at the project level as a project admin? I have found these resources here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/bim-360/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/ENU/BIM-360-Do...

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/bim-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/BIM-36...

Following these instructions it seems like it is only possible to add multiple users one at a time, pressing enter after each one. Copy / pasting in a list of comma separated emails doesn't work.

Is there a way to import a spreadsheet or add a list of users at the project level?

Thanks-

R

Hi,

At the moment the modality of adding multiple project members at once is to search for their names in the search bar and then press Enter after each name.

After you have the full list of names, you will need to press Select and then edit their roles.

I am not aware of any possibility to add members from a spreadsheet at the Project level.

I hope this was helpful.

Best regards,

Bogdan

It might be possible using Forge:

https://developer.autodesk.com/en/docs/bim360/v1/reference/http/projects-project_id-users-import-POS...

The API allows you to bulk import Members to a hub/account, and import members to a project. Up to 50. If this is a repetitive task might be worth setting up.

Importing members at the project level or the ability to paste in a list of email addresses separated by comma or semi-colon needs to be implemented quickly.  The amount of work to set up one project with 50+ members is unnecessarily labor-intensive.

This seems to be an issue people have had for almost a year and a half now. Has there been any movement from Autodesk on creating a feature to add multiple users to a project? We just started the process of implementing BIM 360 and without the function of being able to add multiple users (around 20) to a project it almost seems that this will add more time then it will save us in the long run. This seems like a huge miss in its functionality, especially when we are going through around 1,000 smaller projects in one year. Hope they are working on a solution.

This isn't a solution, but it is a work around. a Member has shown how to use a script to bulk add members. It may be the best option for the next 3-4 years.

We are Now in 2021 the problem is not solved, and we receive update of BIM 360 clearly not important like changing the ribbon or the design of the access button. Please Autodesk do something about that problem ! Please help Project Administrators to work easier.

@saifeddine.barkaoui @david.meyer2QPRZ @Anonymous I talked about bulk adding members to projects using a spreadsheet in my AU2020 class. If you watch the video in this link below, at 14 mins 13 seconds is where I started from. Have a look at this and let me know if you are interested in that PowerShell script:

Hello Deepak,

Nice work and great video. I appreciate the trick. But What I don't understand is that the function of bulk adding by spreadsheet is available on the Account Admin. But why it cannot possible for a project Admin. In your video you say "How cool is that", you know that this feature is already include in many other BIM cloud platforms, without scripts or other stuffs?
It's not really "cool" to do Autodesk's development work for such a basic function that any Cloud Platform administrator need. They have to fix it ! instead, we get unnecessary cosmetic updates.

Totally understand what you are saying mate @saifeddine.barkaoui, but in this class, I wanted to concentrate on the solution that I could make available in the meantime.

Thank you in advance.

We're currently migrating to ACC from a non autodesk program...Has there been any further development on this?

It seems rather crazy that not only can we not batch add multiple companies or members, but then we also need to add members at those companies in order to send any documents for review and approval?? And then these company contacts must accept an invitation to the project and create accounts??

I must be missing something...??

Thanks for your time!
